Do I Really Believe in Christ?
Do I really believe or don't I?
Do you sometimes feel like you are just faking it? I mean do you really believe in God? Do you really believe that there is a God and that we should have faith and trust in Him?
Sometimes I try to take control of my life without being patient and letting God run the show and I know that shows a momentary lack of faith. We all do it. We wonder for a split second or maybe longer if we really believe like we say we do?
But of course if we really think about the times we have felt God's presence and the times that He obviously worked in a situation then we know that He is real and that we do believe. And then the next thing comes along that makes it difficult to believe that God, the amazing almighty God, really spends time thinking about us and answering our prayers and guiding our lives.
The roller coaster that makes us think that maybe we don't really believe is not only a lie, but also really just a matter of faith and trust. And we have already learned that we can't work up our own faith, we have to ask God to give us more. God is ok with our small and struggling faith as long as we are always asking for more.
But what is it that causes us to doubt? I know we call it the devil, satan, and various other names and it is all of those things. I use 'it' just because as a fallen angel I don't believe it is either a he or she. It is just an evil being that wants us to suffer and to drag us down to defeat. But when we are continuously in a conversation with God and asking for more faith, we win and we get stronger.
Don't beat yourself us for momentary doubt, or for jumping in and taking action instead of waiting for God to act. He understands. We all do it, trying to take control of things we should leave up to Him. Remember He is a loving father and He is also KING of the world. Just keep your eyes and minds focused on the blessings God has given you and open for the ones coming.
And have mercy on those who doubt; Jude 1:22
