You Are Good Enough
So many time in life we feel 'less than'. We believe that others are smarter, better looking, more dedicated, better Christians, have more friends, not lazy, have cleaner houses, better families relationships, etc. I could go on and on.
But mostly we often feel we are not good enough to come before God with our requests or even to invite Him into our lives and have a relationship. I've met many people who tell me they are not good enough yet to come to God.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Wow, we are a crazy people. First let's deal with our daily lives. Everyone, and I mean everyone I have ever spoken with about this subject feels all those things mentioned in the first paragraph. So...If everyone feels the same, then obviously what we see of them on the outside and think about them is exactly the same as what they see on the outside of us and think about us. I have a close friend who told me one day that when I started coming to my current church, she thought I had it all together but now she knows differently. Ha ha, big joke. But there is a lot of truth in that statement.
Once we get to know people, we find that they have the same struggles and issues that we have and since 'misery loves company' we all feel better about ourselves.
So lets talk about Christianity. If we feel 'less than' other Christians or not 'good enough' to come before God, maybe that is also the same with other people. I tell you the truth, it is! Everyone feels that way. How can we ask God for favor when we know deep down we don't deserve it? Good news, we can because He told us we can. He told us that 'all have fallen short' and He told us to 'bring our needs before Him" 'ask' and all those other verses in His word.
For Christians who feel unworthy, God says you are forgiven so you are worthy. For those who haven't committed their lives to God or asked Christ into their hearts yet, God says everyone sins, everyone falls short, I love you just as you are, please come now. Don't wait. You will never be good enough.
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. Romans 7: 15-20
Remember the apostles that Jesus called. None of them were good enough. One was even a hated tax collector.
You are important to God and He created you as you are. Come to Him and let Him forgive you and then, VERY IMPORTANT, forgive yourself.
You are good enough. YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! God loves you. He wants you to come to Him with everything. He has good plans for you when you follow Him.
God loves you just the way you are, right now, no matter what you have done or are doing. He wants you to come to Him. Please don't try to wait until you are "better" because we never are. We all do things we shouldn't.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
So you see even one of the great apostles struggled with life. All I know is that with God life is much more joyful and without Him, it is just empty struggling day after day. Ask Jesus into your heart today.
