Hypocrisy or humanity?

Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Roman 2:3

Christian hypocrites.  Is there really such a thing?  Christians can act or speak hypocritically at times but we are all just human with human failings.  The kindness given to us by the Holy Spirit can help us see only our own faults while giving other Christians a break.

When we see others fail, let's forgive and keep moving on as God would have us to move. If non-Christians are involved, we need to make things right with them too so that they don't turn away from Christianity because of us
.

What are things that could make a Christian human act hypocritically, sometimes without even knowing it?

Family tradition, peer pressure, loss of temper, misinterpreting Christian teaching, life, frustration, fear, and many other human emotions and behaviors cause us to do things and they are not always done in private.

This doesn't make our non-Christian behaviors right, but let's talk about you for a minute.  Are you using Christian's non-Christian like human behavior as an excuse to skip church or to not believe in God?  Is that helping the church?  Is that helping you?  Is self-righteousness a sin?

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  Matthew 7:1-4

We must each look to ourselves to be the best Christian we can be while trying at all times to become closer to Christ and follow His example. When we fail, we ask for forgiveness, not only from Jesus but also from others.  We must admit that we are sinners and not perfect Christian specimens.  If we pretend we are not human failures, we set all Christianity up to be judged and rejected.

If we are doing the best we can and if others are acting hypocritically, then that has nothing to do with Christ, Christianity, or us.  We need to keep doing the next right thing as Christ leads.  If you are not attending church or not giving Christianity a second look because of the failures of people, you are missing the point.  Christ came to save the sinner not make us perfect.  Keep your eye on the perfect one (Christ) and not on those who are struggling just like you.

For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  Galatians 6:3

And don't forget all of us act hypocritically from time to time.  We are all human.  Forgive.
