He is Always Here

Check out my latest published book. After spending countless hours working up to its release, I’m proud to announce that it is now available as a paperback and ebook at https://www.dovechristianpublishers.com/catalog/non-fiction/Fresh-Fruit/

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

God is always here. Every person on earth, under the earth, in the sky, on the moon or wherever we happen to be at any given moment has God with them. This concept is challenging to grasp even for those who know the majesty and the omnipotence of God. For unbelievers, it is impossible.

We may find it hard to believe that God, the Creator of the universe would want to spend every minute standing by our sides and in our hearts, loving us as though we never did anything wrong. We  struggle to understand this love, even knowing that the blood that was shed by Christ has cleansed us from our sins and redeemed us in His eyes.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

Knowing God is always here is meant as a comfort to His people but to some it may be a concern. To those who think they are hiding some secret sin or know that they are not truly living as Christ instructed could be uncomfortable thinking that God is watching them in every situation. Consciously acknowledging His presence daily can help us change our actions and thoughts as He directs us.

If Christ were physically with us, our actions would most certainly be different. Our speech would be kind and thoughtful, our pace unhurried so that we could stop and be helpful to those in need. Our diet might even vary along with our sleep pattern, our rising and retiring for the night. The movies we watch, and the television shows along with the music we listen to and the conversations we have with others might change drastically.

Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

God means His consistent guardianship and friendship as a comfort, not a punishment. He loves us so much that He wants to be with us and watch out for us. He wants to commune with us and have a relationship with us that is more than just one day a week. He instructs us, guides us and gives us spiritual gifts and talents to use for His glory.

If we view His attentiveness and persistence as a negative thing, we may need to rethink our values. But what a comfort it is to know that God stands beside us when things are bad and when things are good. He is also seeking and speaking to those who don’t know Him yet. He never gives up on anyone no matter where they are or what they have done.

His Holy Spirit dwells in us. We have access to the King of Kings and all that He has to offer if we ask. He is standing right here, right now. We are strong with His might. We are fearless with His courage.

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Today we cannot count on anything in this world and this world gives us nothing, yet we seek everything it appears to offer. All we can truly count on is God to be with us until the end of the age. Let us seek Him and acknowledge His loving care each minute, knowing that He is always here.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Prayer: Lord thank you for being here. Thank you for being the only one who never leaves and always cares and loves no matter how badly we may mess up. You are the only one we can truly count on and come to. Help us to remember all the times you have turned our bad choices into good things. Strengthen our faith and love for you. Give us the fruit of your Holy Spirit and help us follow your example and be the people you want us to be. We are never alone Lord, and that is a great comfort. Amen
