A New blog to replace Tic Tok and some words about peace
For a long time, I have posted videos on TikTok under Victorious Christian Living. It is now time for me to start blogging again, hoping that God will speak through me to your hearts and minds.
This life journey is not easy. Sometimes we cry out to God asking why He just doesn't make things simple for once. Jesus told His disciples in John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
What does that mean in our daily lives? If Christ has overcome the world, why are things so difficult?
What do we want out of life? These are common questions. To answer them, we must look deep inside our hearts.
First, Jesus does not promise that following Him will be smooth sailing. When we first turn our lives over to Him, we are so happy and excited, life seems simpler and just plain better. In time, however, troubles begin to creep back in. Bills must be paid, loved ones get sick, accidents happen, jobs are lost, and we start to depend on ourselves instead of keeping our trust in God.
If we seriously consider what would make life better, it's not money, love, experiences, people, or things. It's peace. Peace is the answer. If we could have peace during every difficult moment of our lives, wouldn't that make whatever is happening ok? If we could have the constant assurance that God is working in our situation and that it will all work out just fine, life would be so much more pleasant.
We can have that assurance. In Romans 8:28 Paul says "and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose."
We know! We are called to follow Him, to show His love and His peace to the world that is without peace. That is His purpose. And He is constantly working everything for our good. Even our bad choices, the bad choices of others, the evil that sometimes attacks us, or the laws of nature; God is working them for our good.
If you are a parent and you do something for your child that is for their good but doesn't make them happy, is it any less for their good? No. Sometimes what God does for our good is not what we asked for. But that is ok, because it is for our good. He is our father and He wants us to have peace.
Take time today to think about your struggles and to thank God for working in your situation. Put your hand on your heart and take a deep breath, and know that whatever it is will work out and it probably won't be in a way that you ever dreamed of. God is so awesome and comes up with the best solutions. Trust and watch what He does in your life and have peace.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7)
Peace today, eternal life tomorrow! Bless you all.
